Kiyomi Quinn Taylor

Bio: Kiyomi Quinn Taylor (b.1995) was born and raised in South Orange, New Jersey. Taylor received her BFA from New York University in 2017 and her MFA from Columbia University in 2020. In her work, Kiyomi examines her family’s narrative history as well as iconography of her Black and Japanese heritage. She uses painting, drawing, collage, installation, stop-motion animation, performance, and sculpture to create spaces and tableaus. Through them, the audience is invited to share in her inner life through meditations on time travel, ancestral memory, and the chaotic force of love. She currently lives and works in New York City.
