Artist Statement: My artistic practices include photography, sculpture, ceramics, and performance. They are often installed to create a relational space where viewers can encounter a renewed experience with time—a kind that existed before time was divided into fractions. Through a vigorous investigation of natural and industrial materials, I draw out the ephemerality, scope of time, and memory inherent in their physicality. By doing so, my work seeks to resist the speed of contemporary life and reestablish our interconnectedness to the cosmos. Ultimately, I am cultivating a garden of time or something that holds the garden within it, like a Japanese stone garden that contains the universe.
