Esteban Cabeza de Baca
Bio: Esteban Cabeza de Baca (b. 1985) is a painter from the border town of San Ysidro, CA. Esteban is an observational painter at heart; whether he’s painting outdoors or from the unconscious his goal is to expand Plein Air painting from its origins. Esteban enjoys making music, dancing and talking about dead painters. In 2010, he received his BFA from The Cooper Union. Esteban has been honored to receive the 2013 Robert Gamblin Scholarship, Jacob Javitz Scholarship and the Medici Foundation Grant. He has exhibited at the Tompkins Projects (NY), Museum of Outdoor Arts (CO) and the LeRoy Neiman Gallery at Columbia University (NY).
